Sri Chamundeshwari Nursing Home was started by Dr. R. Lalitha in the year 1966 to provide selfless healthcare service to the people of Mysuru. It was Mysuru’s first exclusive Gynaecology care provider and second private nursing home. Dr. Lalitha was well known as the “Mother Theressa of Mysuru” because of her selfless care giving and treating patients without expectation of monetary gains.

The nursing home continues this tradition today in the hands of her son Mr. Jagadeesh and her grand son Dr. Abhilash.
